Manual control valves – mode of operation and application

Manual control valves - mode of operation and application

Manual control valves are mainly used in mobile hydraulics, where several functions usually have to be controlled simultaneously. Manual control valves differ significantly from valves used in industrial hydraulics and are characterized by compact design and higher functional integration of the individual segments.

Hydromot manual control valves are available in OEM quality as monoblock and sandwich construction. All our valves have pressureless circulation in neutral position!!! With our MB-3 and MB-4 the pressure continuation can be realized by the enclosed grub screw – without surcharge!!!
In addition to different switching positions, we have various control types in our delivery program (pneumatic, electric, joystick, Bowden cable). The maximum flow rate is 240 l/min (sandwich design only). Our manual control valves are also available as log splitter valves, e.g. with rapid traverse function for fast extension of the splitting cylinder.

MB3 manual control valves are available up to a maximum of 6 sections. The maximum flow rate is 45 l/min, the maximum operating pressure is 315 bar. Different switching positions are available, as well as different control types (e.g. electric, pneumatic, Bowden cable,…). Our MB3 manual control valves have an integrated pressure relief valve with pressure settings from 63 to 200 bar or 160 to 315 bar. A pressure transfer plug is included in the scope of delivery of each valve. You can find more information in our
    catalog.

MB4 manual control valves are available up to a maximum of 6 sections. The maximum flow rate is 60 l/min, the maximum operating pressure is 315 bar. Different switching positions are available, as well as different control types (e.g. electric, pneumatic, Bowden cable,…). For log splitters, we have a rapid traverse valve in the program. Our MB4 manual control valves have an integrated pressure relief valve with pressure settings from 63 to 200 bar or 160 to 315 bar. A pressure expansion guide plug is included with each valve. You can find more information in our

MB5 manual control valves are available up to a maximum of 6 sections. The maximum flow rate is 80 l/min, the maximum operating pressure is 315 bar. Different switching positions are available, as well as different control types (e.g. electric, pneumatic, Bowden cable,…). Our MB5 manual control valves have an integrated pressure relief valve with pressure settings from 63 to 200 bar or 160 to 315 bar. A pressure expansion guide plug is included with each valve. Gear Pumps - Application

Manual control valves are used in various applications, such as agriculture, construction machinery, industrial plants and automotive engineering. They enable precise control of hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic motors and other hydraulic components. They provide a simple and reliable way to control the flow of hydraulic fluid.

How does a hand lever valve work?

    Definition and structure

A hand lever valve is a special type of hand control valve that can be adapted to different types of machines. It consists of a hand lever connected to the valve body that can assume different positions to control the flow of hydraulic fluid.

Operation of a hand lever valve

The user can move the hand lever to different positions to regulate the flow of hydraulic fluid. Depending on the position of the hand lever, the hydraulic fluid is directed in a certain direction or stopped.

What is the float position on a manual control valve?

Definition and function of the floating position

The float position on a manual control valve allows the user to hold the hand lever in a neutral position while the hydraulic system remains active. In the floating position, the valve does not lock automatically and the user can manually control the movement of the hydraulic cylinder.

    Applications of the floating position

The floating position is often used in applications where precise positioning is required, such as cranes, lift trucks and forklifts.

Advantages and disadvantages of the floating position

The main advantage of the floating position is the precise control of the position of a hydraulic cylinder. It allows the user to move the cylinder smoothly and place it exactly in the desired position. However, one disadvantage of the floating position is that the user must continuously hold the hand lever to maintain the position of the cylinder.
