Compact Hydraulic Power Packs
A compact hydraulic power pack allows installation in confined spaces and are intended for use in lifting platforms, small presses, machine tools and vehicles. A compact power pack in hydraulics consists of an electric motor, a pump, a housing and a tank. The aluminium housing forms the supporting part of the compact power pack, to which all main parts including hydraulic components are attached. The function of the compact power pack can be seen from the relevant circuits. By fitting NG04 or NG06 hydraulic valves, the compact units can be the compact units can be converted into complete drive and control units. The standard connection plates for directional control valves have the consumer connections A and B arranged on one side. The compact hydraulic unit can be installed horizontally or vertically. When using rectangular tanks, the installation position is always horizontal.

How is a compact hydraulic unit constructed?
A compact hydraulic unit consists of three main elements: The oil tank, the central flange with hydraulic pump and valve technology and the drive motor. Compact power units are designed as a modular system so that individual components are interchangeable.
In which power range are compact hydraulic power packs available?
Our AC compact power packs are available from 0.75 kW to 5.5 kW. On customer request, we can also supply smaller compact power units, these start at a power of 0.12 kW. The electric drive motors are available in 230 volts and 400 volts. Our DC compact units are available in 2 kW, 3kW and 4kW, smaller power levels are available on request. The supply voltage for our DC motors is 12 or 24 volts.
Which hydraulic compact power pack is suitable for log splitters?
The size and power of the compact power pack for a log splitter depends on the required splitting force and also the cylinder speed. When designing a compact hydraulic power pack for a log splitter, the efficiency of the hydraulic system and the electric drive motor must also be taken into account. You can find more information on the design of compact power packs in our Hydraulics Blog.
What should be considered when selecting the tank size of a compact power pack?
In stationary hydraulics, the tank volume should be approx. a factor of 3 - 5 of the volume flow of the hydraulic pump. In mobile hydraulics, a factor of 1 - 2 is sufficient. As a rule, an additional hydraulic oil cooler is used here.
